AION 2 Login Errors, Queues and Connection Problems on PC

Step 1｜Check official service and maintenance notices

A confirmed service outage is not repaired by reinstalling locally.

Time: About 2 minutes · Risk: low

1. Check AION 2’s official notices and official social account.
2. Open AION 2’s Steam news and read the latest relevant announcement.
3. During an announced outage, avoid reinstalling or changing router configuration.

Step 2｜Remain in an ordinary login queue

The original policy says both priority and regular queues advance as slots become available.

Time: Depends on congestion · Risk: low

1. Avoid repeated cancellation or restarts while an ordinary queue is displayed. Follow a specific official restart instruction if issued.
2. If choosing a new server is appropriate, consider an officially recommended or newly added lower-load server rather than repeatedly joining the longest queue.
3. The original notices describe transfers from early-access servers starting October 14 and full-service servers October 21, subject to windows/capacity; instanced content such as dungeons supports cross-server play. Do not treat a transfer as guaranteed.

The original policy says sanctioned or suspected-violation accounts may lose access to the priority queue. A slow queue alone does not establish an account sanction.

Step 3｜Check the main application and relevant account

The September 16 Launch Scale Test application did not grant entry to early access. These are historical transition checks, not a request to buy a Founder’s Pack now.

Time: About 10 minutes, excluding download · Risk: low

1. Steam: remove the obsolete AION 2 Playtest application and install the main AION 2 client if you still use the test client. Preserve wanted files before uninstalling.
2. PURPLE: the original transition notice required no replacement application.
3. For a historical Founder’s Pack entitlement problem, confirm the signed-in account is the purchasing account.
4. Restart the game/client to apply available updates. The October 1 notice said the early-access entitlement recognition fix was distributed automatically on restart.

Playtest progress did not carry into early access or full service. A progressing preload-decryption task needs time; it is not automatically a reinstall.

Step 4｜Close the client and launcher, then inspect files

Processes can remain after a window closes. Save work and avoid interrupting an active installation or progressing update.

Time: About 10 minutes · Risk: low

1. After a normal exit, use Ctrl+Shift+Esc to check for stuck AION 2 and Steam/PURPLE processes; end only the relevant stalled processes.
2. Relaunch from the launcher; if necessary, restart the PC.
3. For Twitch Drops, do not create a separate NC-site link just to troubleshoot. The original warning says this can disrupt an existing link and character access. Follow the official Twitch guide for the account actually used: Steam for Steam players, NC for PURPLE players.
4. Steam Library → right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
5. Check free storage against the reviewed 100 GB requirement and leave room for updates.

Step 5｜Compare VPN and local connection conditions

Use these checks when service notices do not explain why only your connection fails.

Time: About 10 minutes · Risk: low

1. Temporarily compare a VPN/network optimizer off only if permitted; restore it after testing.
2. Keep security protection enabled. If a block is logged, record the file, detection name and time and ask the security vendor or official game support before changing exclusions or permissions.
3. Restart your own router using its manufacturer’s procedure, allowing it to reconnect. Do not factory-reset it.
4. If practical, compare wired Ethernet with Wi-Fi.
