The short answer
An unresponsive launcher needs launcher and permission checks; an immediate game exit needs its error and file-repair branch; a gameplay crash needs the repeatable scene and Windows evidence. Repair through the platform you actually use and repeat the same action before declaring it fixed.

- October 15 update, published October 16
- The October 16 notice describes an October 15 resource update and asks players to restart. Its Holo-Battle and NPC-duel crash fixes and related loading improvements are console items, not confirmation that all PC launch failures were fixed.
- October 16 black-screen guidance
- Driver, DX11/DX12 and login-screen DLSS/frame-generation comparisons apply to black screens, not every startup failure.
- Historical September 23 update
- Restart for available updates; the version 1.1 review includes a dungeon blackout/restart control-lock fix.
- Record first
- Launcher failure, startup exit or gameplay crash; exact error and time
- Official launcher repair
- Top-right settings → one-click repair
- Steam repair
- Aniimo Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files

- 64-bit Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, DirectX 11 and 40 GB available; recheck the current listing.
Find your symptom
Start with your symptom. Skip steps that do not apply to your setup.
| What you see | What to check | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| The launcher itself does not open | Check its launch path and permissions. | Step 2 |
| The launcher opens but Start does nothing | Separate pending updates, file state and quarantine. | Step 4 |
| The logo appears and the game exits silently | Record the time and compare after repair. | Step 4 |
| The FAQ’s “Falied to load il2cpp” message appears | Inspect protection history for a matching official file. | Step 3 |
| Windows compatibility, disk space or network error appears | Follow the specific message. | Step 3 |
| The game crashes during play | Compare scene, elapsed time and matching application events. | Step 6 |
| Repair reacquires files but the failure returns, or nothing changes | Choose the next branch from the reproduced result. | Step 5 |

Step 1|Record the last working stage and Windows evidence
Distinguish no response, startup exit and gameplay failure.
Time: About 3 minutes · Risk: low
- Copy the exact error/code; if none appears, record time and the last action such as loading or combat.
- Right-click Start → Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application.
- Near that time, inspect errors for the game/launcher application, faulting module and exception code if available.
- A missing matching log does not establish a cause; continue to the symptom’s branch.
An Application Error event is a clue, not proof that Windows or the GPU is faulty.

Step 2|Check when the launcher itself will not open
Use the actual platform and official installation.
Time: About 5 minutes · Risk: low
- Check official maintenance/update notices and let active downloads finish.
- For Steam, start Aniimo from the Library and confirm Steam opens. For the standalone version, use the official launcher.
- If the official launcher does not respond, restart Windows. If still blocked, the FAQ suggests trying Run as administrator once for that trusted launcher.
- If it opens, compare Start next. If not, record the time/error and contact the official support route; the original guide lists the Japanese desk support_jp@aniimo.com.

Step 3|Follow the error-specific branch
Do not treat every message as an interchangeable crash.
Time: About 5 minutes · Risk: low
- For “Falied to load il2cpp” as written in the official FAQ, open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history and look for a matching Aniimo quarantine.
- Restore or allow an individual file only if you can verify it belongs to the official distribution and the security product’s guidance supports that action. Do not allow unknown detections.
- For a Windows compatibility error, inspect Settings → System → About and system type. The reviewed baseline is 64-bit Windows 10; it is not a recommendation to use an unsupported Windows installation.
- For low space, inspect the actual installation drive. For a network error, compare launcher connectivity with official notices.
For a white or black game screen, use the display article. October 16’s rendering guidance is not a universal fix for an unresponsive launcher. Without a specific error, continue to file repair.
Black-screen guidance and result checks — First establish whether Windows remains visible, then compare one rendering setting at a time.

Step 4|Repair through the platform you actually use
The official launcher and Steam have different entry points.
Time: About 15 minutes · Risk: low
- Close the game. In the official launcher, use top-right settings → one-click repair, then restart the launcher.
- On Steam, use Aniimo Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for completion and record whether files were reacquired. Try Start once and check whether it passes the logo into gameplay.
- If nothing is reacquired or the same point still fails, continue to the result branch.
The launcher option comes from Aniimo’s FAQ; Steam verification follows Steam’s separate support procedure.

Step 5|Use the repair and launch results together
Successful file repair is not proof of stable gameplay.
Time: About 10 minutes · Risk: low
- If it now starts, repeat the previous failing startup, load or scene once.
- If reacquired files produce the same error, inspect protection history for a fresh matching quarantine; preserve any different filename for support.
- If repair changes nothing and startup fails every time, compare the Steam requirements, matching Windows event and graphics environment.
- If startup works but long sessions or a particular scene fail, use the gameplay branch.

Step 6|Compare the repeated scene and graphics environment
Record one change at a time.
Time: About 15 minutes · Risk: low
- Record the scene and elapsed play time and inspect matching Event Viewer entries.
- Compare one lower graphics level in the same scene; separately compare one overlay disabled, such as recording or Discord.
- For repeatable failure as rendering begins, compare GPU, RAM and DirectX 11 requirements. If updating the official GPU driver, restart Windows before retesting.
- For affected Intel 13th/14th-generation desktop CPUs with repeated crashes or video-memory messages, consult the official stability branch and model-specific manufacturer instructions.
If a shared scene issue is confirmed, check official updates. For a persistent single-PC failure, include time, error and PC details through in-game support/F10 or the official contact. The original guide’s email is the Japanese desk.

Avoid
- Do not install unofficial DLLs or universal repair tools before recording the error.
- Do not disable all security protection or restore unverified detections.
- Do not change several settings together.
Important cautions
- The October 16 notices do not give a build number. Their relationship to a particular Steam build or a claimed October 17 PC launch fix is unverified.
- Before reinstalling or manually removing an installation, confirm the platform and account linkage.
FAQ
Where is one-click repair?
In the official launcher’s top-right settings. Steam uses Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity instead.
Why does the game still crash after repair?
If reacquired files trigger the same error, check for a matching new quarantine. If nothing changes, compare requirements and the Windows event at the failure time.
What should I record if it closes without an error?
Platform, time, startup-versus-gameplay stage, reproduction steps, repair results and any matching application/module/exception code. Use in-game support when accessible or the official contact when not.
