The short answer

For GTX 10 and RTX 20 GPUs that meet minimum requirements, EA recommends turning Environment Geometry Detail off. For Intel Arc, consult the manufacturer’s Resizable BAR instructions. Compare graphics settings and a sustainable frame-rate cap one change at a time.

Step 1|Check the minimum before tuning

Membership in the GTX 10 series alone does not meet the GTX 1080 minimum.

Time: About 3 minutes · Risk: low

  1. Run dxdiag and read the exact GPU on the Display tab.
  2. Compare with GTX 1080, RX 5600 XT or Arc B580 and 16 GB RAM.
  3. Install an applicable current official GPU driver and restart.

Meeting the minimum does not mean every quality setting will run smoothly.

Results that did not fix the problem help the next reader too.

Step 2|Compare Environment Geometry Detail off

EA scopes this advice to GTX 10/RTX 20 GPUs that meet the minimum.

Time: About 2 minutes · Risk: low

  1. Open Options → Graphics.
  2. Record Environment Geometry Detail and change it to Off.
  3. Compare the same save, location and resolution.

Results that did not fix the problem help the next reader too.

Step 3|Check Intel Arc Resizable BAR

Use the hardware maker’s procedure rather than guessing BIOS options.

Time: 10–20 minutes · Risk: medium

  1. Check its status; it may be off by default.
  2. Consult the exact PC or motherboard maker’s instructions for enabling Resizable BAR in BIOS/UEFI.
  3. After an understood, supported change, compare the same scene.

Only change BIOS settings you understand. Ask the manufacturer if the prerequisites or procedure are unclear.

Results that did not fix the problem help the next reader too.

Step 4|Lower one graphics setting at a time

EA identifies Display, Anti-aliasing & Upscaling and Quality as the relevant sections.

Time: About 10 minutes · Risk: low

  1. Capture the current settings.
  2. In Options → Graphics, compare one item at a time across Display, Anti-aliasing & Upscaling, then Quality.
  3. Repeat the same scene after each change and undo it if it does not help.

The original PCGamingWiki review lists DLSS, FSR and XeSS among the upscaling choices; use only options available to your hardware.

Results that did not fix the problem help the next reader too.

Step 5|Compare a frame-rate cap the PC can sustain

A cap can reduce fluctuations and unnecessary load; compare rather than assuming an improvement.

Time: About 2 minutes · Risk: low

  1. Choose an available cap slightly below the FPS normally sustained, such as 60 when appropriate.
  2. Compare stuttering and heat in the same scene.
  3. Restore the previous value if there is no benefit.

Results that did not fix the problem help the next reader too.

Avoid

  • Do not expect tuning to overcome a GPU below the minimum.
  • Do not change several quality settings together.
  • Do not change unfamiliar BIOS parameters.

Important cautions

  • Disabling Environment Geometry Detail does not compensate for hardware below the minimum.
  • DLSS-related crashes need the separate driver checks in the launch/crash guide.

FAQ

How many FPS will disabling Environment Geometry Detail add?

EA does not provide a specific gain in the cited guidance. Gemnao has not independently measured it. Compare the same scene before and after.

Does this make GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 meet the minimum?

No. The listed NVIDIA minimum is GTX 1080. Lowering quality does not change the hardware requirement or guarantee smooth play.

What is the recommended target?

EA gives native 1440p at High and 60 FPS for the recommended GPU/RAM baseline of RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT with 32 GB RAM. It is a published target, not a measurement of every scene.
